With a botanical name, Ananas comosus, Pineapples are a cylindrical shaped compound fruit, with many yellow eyelets covering their surface and have a green 'crown' on top. They have a high sugar and acid content in their pale-yellow to yellow flesh.

Native to central and South America, pineapples thrive in tropical conditions, and are primarily grown in Thailand, the Philippines, Indonesia, Hawaii, South Africa, Brazil, Vietnam, Costa Rica and Kenya. The principle commercial variety of pineapple is known as the "Smooth Caynenne". E.E. & Brian Smith sources its Pineapple Juice concentrates from Indonesia and Pineapple Juices from around the world.
