Beansprouts

E.E. & Brian Smith are a supplier of Beansprouts. They belong to the sprout vegetable family. It is a sprout of the mung bean family and the have a small stalk, a straight root and two seed lobes. The germinated seeds come from China, but the Beansprouts are grown in Holland.

The Beansprouts are received and washed ready for pickling. The Beansprouts would be pickled in a specific recipe then packed into the packaging format required and pasteurised. Once pasteurised the shelf life is 3 years from production date.

We can offer them pickled in a 2.4kg plastic food service jar or retail glass jars. These can be packed with or without a label.

The most common Beansprout line we produce is a mix of beansprouts and red pepper dice.

If there is a bespoke recipe you are looking for please let us know and we can try to help – please note there will be a MOQ (12,000 food service jars or 50,000 retail jars).

Beansprouts are available all year round there is not a specific time where you need to purchase them unlike some other vegetables.

They are often used in the following applications –

• Stir Fries
• Salads
• Soups
• Spring Rolls

All our Beansprouts are sourced from our supplier in Holland. They are BRC (or equivalent) approved, and we have worked with them for many years as their agent in the UK. The factory is also audited by our own in-house technical team too.

Answer – The plastic jars are 2.4kg each however the beansprouts can be packed into retail glass jars too.
