E.E. & Brian Smith are a supplier of IQF Blackberry. The IQF Blackberries (Individually Quick Frozen) are produced by washing the blackberries and checking for defects. They go through the freezing process ensuring each piece of fruit stays separate from each other ensuring a free-flowing product.

Once frozen the Blackberries are packed into cartons ready for shipment. The cartons are normally around 10kg in size.

We source all our IQF Blackberries from Poland, Spain and the UK. If required, we are able to supply ‘British’ or ‘Scottish’ Blackberries which might be good for seasonal products.

The Blackberries are used in a variety of different ways by UK food manufacturers including –

  • Fruit Pies
  • Ice cream
  • Yoghurts
  • Desserts

We always source our IQF Blackberry from suppliers which are BRC (or equivalent) approved and have also been audited by our own in house technical team.

We are happy to supply samples, specifications and prices for more information please contact enquiries@eebriansmith.com or 01844 239500.

Question – What does IQF mean?

Answer – IQF  ‘individually quick frozen’ means that the fruit is frozen very quickly at low temperatures. By it being frozen quickly the ice crystals do not form and the frozen fruit remains free flowing within the bag or carton.

Question – Do IQF Blackberry have more sugar than fresh?

Answer – No sugar is added to the IQF Blackberry and the sugar content is the same in the fresh Blackberries as the frozen Blackberries.

Question – What is the shelf life on IQF Blackberry?
